SOMA Labs Music is very excited to present this EP by long-time friend Anthony Child, aka Surgeon, who took the SOMA TERRA microtonal touch synth on an otherworldly journey through different moods and textures. Perpetual Rotation presents minimalist introspective soundscapes by the master himself.

This is the first release on the label which was written only with two instruments: TERRA and COSMOS.

About the songs:

Turn on to the Hall of Perpetual Rotation-
This track contains clear influences from the minimalist era, such as Steve Reich’s work. For example, there is a pattern in the bass that is repeated throughout almost the entire track. It's just three notes: h, g and a. A small musical motif, within the Seventh (interval Italian: settimo), is repeated over and over again and each time in a different way (this is thanks to COSMOS). This repeating pattern creates the hypnotizing sensation of Perpetual Rotation.
The amplitude of the drone part, which starts at 3:30, gradually develops so widely that it becomes similar to violin arpeggios and creates the feeling of the presence of an entire symphony orchestra.

Awkward Heels Forward-
This one follows the best traditions of the drone genre: long dissonant chords, complemented by noise inserts. The tension continues throughout the entire composition and is resolved only in the next track.

Seven Swimming Sea Turtles-
A self-explanatory name. Really, we can hear turtles swimming in deep-sea currents and begin to swim along with them.

Ancient Parade of Flickering Lights-
This track is the perfect culmination, collecting all the emotions that we experienced while listening to the previous three tracks and posing new transcendental questions, the answer to which can only be found by ourselves.
